DN Equine Sports Massage Therapy

Denbeigh is a fully qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist based in Sway in the New Forest covering the Hampshire, Dorset and the Wiltshire boarder.

Equine Sports Massage is the application of recognised massage techniques which have then been adapted for the equine anatomy. Massage is beneficial to all equines, from retired family ponies to top level competition horses.

Many different activities can cause muscle soreness whether it's just from your horse playing in the field or from a busy day competing. This is why it is so important to ensure your horse is seen by a qualified ESMT regularly as it is always much more beneficial to prevent problems than have to cure them at a later date which is normally a much more drawn out process.

There is a range of benefits massage can have on horses such as:

  • Increased Range of Motion
  • Enhances Muscle Tone
  • Reduces Inflammation & Swelling
  • Assist with Body Balance
  • Promotes Healing
  • Positive Effect on Muscle Processes
  • Releases Endorphins
  • Improves Physical Condition

There are many different reasons you may wish to draw on the knowledge of an ESMT and there are some tell tale signs that your horse would benefit from a visit from Denbeigh, these include:

  • Difficulty bending on a specific rein when under saddle
  • New behaviours such as bucking, rearing or bolting
  • Inability to track up, uneven striding
  • Reluctance to relax into or work in an outline
  • Failure to pick up a specific canter lead
  • Signs that your horse may be cold backed e.g. bucking, rearing
  • General musculoskeletal issues

Please don't hesitate to contact Denbeigh if you have any queries or would like to book an appointment.

Discounts offered for yard visits for over 3 horses or ponies, send over an email or text to find out more.
