🌿 14.1hh Registered New Forest Gelding | 6yo | £5,995 🌿

Obershade President • Forest bred by Fidleywood Falconer

Available for sale on behalf of his owner, this lovely 6-year-old registered New Forest gelding is a genuinely kind, bold and forward-going pony with a fantastic hacking background and plenty of potential for the right person.

He has been owned since a foal and has been backed and broken, then allowed time to mature. He has mainly been enjoyed as a hacking pony on the open New Forest, with plenty of experience including beach rides and swimming. He is brave, enjoys his job and is definitely not a kick-along type — more of a responsive, point-and-go pony who gets on with the job.

He has hacked in front or behind and is sensible around traffic, tractors and cars. He is happy to lead younger ponies past things they may find spooky and will happily tackle puddles, water, bridges, logs and natural obstacles. He has also regularly accompanied a driving pony and takes it all in his stride.

He has just come to me for schooling for the first time and has never previously had an arena education. He is taking everything incredibly well and is proving to be a quick learner. Canter leads and transitions are already starting to come, and he is beginning to understand his new job.

He is therefore a green, unspoilt pony who lacks a proper schooling education but has an excellent foundation and attitude. He is not a novice ride and will need an experienced rider to continue his education and bring out his full potential, particularly in schooling and jumping. He has, however, been ridden by a novice in his previous home.

He is extremely bold and genuine, with a lovely attitude to life, and we feel he could make a super all-round pony for someone wanting to produce their own New Forest. He has all the raw ingredients to become a very exciting pony.
