Waffle | 6yo | approx. 17.2hh | Thoroughbred

Waffle is a lovely young Thoroughbred looking for a new home where someone can give him the time, consistency and training that he deserves.

This is an incredibly difficult decision and he is being sold through no fault of his own. With my current commitments, I simply don’t have the time needed to continue his education and bring him on in the way I would like to.

🐴 About Waffle

Waffle is a very green horse who is still learning and needs a confident, patient and experienced person who enjoys producing a horse rather than looking for something completely made.

He is intelligent, affectionate and has so much potential in the right hands. He can be cheeky and testing at times, so he is not a novice ride and needs someone who understands young/green Thoroughbreds and is happy to put the time into his training.

He has been doing groundwork and confidence-building and would benefit from someone who can continue this consistently and patiently.

🩺 Previous injury

Waffle has a history of a superficial tear to his digital flexor tendon. This was an injury that happened on the race track hence why he was taken off. It has since healed and doesn’t seem to be causing him any problems. The previous owner failed to give me any veterinary history. But he is absolutely sounds in all 3 paces.

Because of his history, I am looking for a home that will take a sensible and careful approach to his fitness and workload. I am more than happy to be completely transparent and discuss his history honestly with serious enquiries!

🚛 Travelling

Waffle can load beautifully , but he does not travel particularly well and can become unsettled during journeys.

Because of this, he would need to travel in a 3.5 or 7.5 rather than a trailer, and I would ideally like him to go to a local home so that his journey to his new home can be kept as short and stress-free as possible.

His new owner would also need to be prepared to continue working on his travelling and build his confidence gradually.

🏡 The home I am looking for

I am looking for a 5⭐️ knowledgeable and experienced home where Waffle’s welfare, training and happiness will come first.

He is not a push-button horse and I am not looking for someone who wants a finished product. He needs someone who genuinely enjoys bringing on a young, green horse and is willing to give him the time he deserves.

I would much rather wait for the right person than rush a sale. Homes will be vetted.
