Description

After sad and careful consideration I have decided to find my boy a new home. Due to disability and inability to ride. 13.3 and a very kind boy. He is a very solid type and has heavy bone and good conformation to be a weight carrier. He has been with me for 11 years and was backed and brought in by myself and my daughter with the support of our trainer.

He is a happy hacker, first or last on his own or in company. Used to farm vehicles and all forest animals. He has shown successfully in hand and ridden. Schools nicely and has done low level dressage. He enjoys pole work. He’s a leg in each corner cob and doesn’t buck or rear. Due to an ongoing disability and arthritis I am no longer able to ride - my consultant has sadly banned me from riding and unfortunately my knees don’t allow me the control to ride as I used to without pain. I’ve never been an interested in jumping but my daughter has popped the odd jump with him. I have also done ridden and in hand agility with him. He’s been used many times as a nanny to younger or nervous horses.

He currently lives out year round without rugs as I haven’t clipped him for a few years. He will come with his tack; Isobel worth dressage saddle and stirrups and leathers - we’ve tried a variety of saddles over the years but a dressage or vsd cut works best for his wide flat shoulders and enables freedom of movement. I ride him with a happy mouth straight bar Pelham- not because he’s strong as I ride on the buckle but because this combination suits him best. He has a wardrobe of rugs that will also be included so that he has rugs if clipped. He has a very long mane and a mega tail and feather. When showing he’s always placed highly.

He’s never had any illness. Pre Covid he had a small sarcoidosis in his sheath and this was treated successfully. He’s currently barefoot and when in regular work I have only ever had fronts on him.

I am open to viewings evenings and weekends. He can be ridden in the field or taken out. Happy for a vetting.

He has just turned 17 but has had a very quiet life with me and was started late as he was a rescue as a youngster. He was passports at 6 however our vet has maintained that he presented as a youngster of no more than 3 when he was supposed to be 6 so believes he is more like 14 now.

He would suit a happy hacker home and someone who wants a safe and dependable friend to enjoy for years to come.

Happy to answer all and any questions. More photographs and videos on request

He is not currently in regular work but this has been the case at a couple of times over the years and he comes back in quickly. He will also load very easily into trailers or Lorry’s.

£6000 Ono
