Bracken is a lovely young cob mare with a kind temperament and plenty of potential. She is a very sweet natured mare who is easy to handle on the ground and is regularly handled by children aged 8 and 11. She is safe in the stable, even around food, easy to catch from the field, loads herself, and travels well.
Bracken is schooling nicely and has been ridden regularly by my 11-year-old. She is forward-going but sensible, with brakes and lovely flashy paces. She is currently popping small courses of jumps sweetly and is proving to be a straightforward and willing mare.
She has hacked alone and in company and is very straightforward not silly or fizzy when hit the gallops and not phased by traffic in anyway
She lives both in and out and is happy in a mixed herd environment.
Barefoot
Picks up all four feet
Good for the farrier — initially nervous, but now stands nicely
Easy to bath, groom, and handle
Easy to clip
Never kicked or bitten
Use to farm animals
Although Bracken is ridden and handled by children, due to her age she is still learning and developing, so she would not be suitable as a complete novice ride as obviously her age means she can still occasionally need the confidence of her rider. She would ideally suit a competent teenager or small adult who can continue her education and have lots of fun with her.
