Nelson is a beloved children’s pony. Same two homes since 2014 teaching two pairs of sisters their riding skills from lead rein through to independent forward fun riding, as well as countless children of friends and family.

Looking for a new young horsey family to take him on for a childhood of fun with him. 5* long term home, experienced and in the South essential.

Excels at hacking on lead and off lead – loves being out with his friends hacking around the countryside.

Fully involved every year with Cowdray Hunt Pony Club, Midhurst since 2014 attending rallies and all camps.

Loves to jump - has a big jump for the older more competent child to have fun with, but equally happy pottering over trotting poles and small jumps.

Very good to handle, load, shoe, clip, dentist, vet, lunge, take for walks with the dogs! Clean bill of health and veterinary history available from Blackdown Equine, Fernhurst if required.

Snaffle ride, not strong and always easy to pull up for a child.

Nelson is a characterful Welsh Section A with a sweet natured cheeky personality. Occasionally, he has dropped a shoulder or popped in an excitable small buck when off the lead rein. Therefore, he is suited to confident children who won’t be phased by cheeky pony antics and happy to laugh it off at 1.5 level. By the time they are riding fully independently, they have mastered him! If he occasionally loses his jockey, he stops still and looks at them with a bit of a smirk! If you can accept this, your children will learn to ride really well before stepping onto bigger ponies.
