Very sad sale of stunning 7 yr old ride and drive red Blagdon Irish Cob gelding.
He absolutely loves to jump, has been successful SJ at upto 75cm with scope for more. He has been XC schooling and has been shown successfully inhand too. He can work really sweetly on the flat and would do a nice dressage test. He's not spooky with fillers and has been competed by a novice teenager. He has been schooled over much bigger jumps and is willing to give anything a try. He happily jumps 90 and with more fitness and a gung ho rider he would be a real performance type cob. He has had one previous home since a foal and has been hunted in Ireland by that home who we bought him from.
He has always been brilliant to hack alone and in company until recently when due to work commitments he has had a novice and nervous sharer who has allowed him to become cheeky when hacking alone. He needs a bit of persuasion to leave the yard now and therefore to hack alone he'll need an experienced rider. He is fine with others and will go first or last.
Due to the dark evenings, and an increase in work commitments he is totally wasted in a very muddy field. It's heartbreaking to him see bored and not getting the attention he deserves. He lives in or out, is good to shoe and clip, loads and travels well and is all in all an awesome little chap.
He was driven before we got him in 2 and 4 wheelers and a friend did try him in harness last summer and said he was fab.
He is priced realistically as he is out in the field and I haven't had time to ride him for the last few weeks, so is partially a 'project' and whisky he'll be easy to get back into work, someone will need to do this and look beyond the hairy coat and mud!
No time wasters please, he does need to be sold and to the right home.
