Beautiful kind mare who schools nicely and enjoys her jumping and hacking. I’ve had Tabasco for 6 years and have mainly been schooling and hacking her, but more recently started her jumping (which she clearly enjoys, her sire being Miley, a successful coloured showjumper). She is a very honest horse who always tries her best. Schools nicely and recently achieved second place in a novice dressage competition. Since my daughter stopped riding last year I’ve found my heart is not in it any more, plus I have some back issues which don’t respond well to riding, so I’ve decided to move her on as she is a lovely horse with so much to offer. Don’t be put off by her age, as she has relatively low mileage and is a resilient well-put together sort.
A good home is essential. Tabasco lives out with her companion 24/7 with a shelter, and is not really happy being stabled for any length of time, so an ideal home for her would offer plenty of turn-out and a not too busy life. She is a forward ride, though soft in the mouth and responsive, with good brakes. Will go in front or behind, alone or in company. She is quite sensitive, neither sharp nor spooky but not really a novice ride. Never bucked nor reared. Travels well, calm at shows, good for the farrier. Good in traffic, including tractors (we live on a farm). Up to date with jabs. Would enjoy a riding club type of home, being ridden 3 or 4 times a week by a rider not exceeding 10 stone (due to her age), with some flatwork to keep her muscles strong, ideally with a friend to hack out with. Ideal mother-daughter/son share, as does not get silly or fresh even after not being taken out for a while.
Would consider a LWVTB (with the possibility of coming back to our farm for her retirement).
Priced to sell at £4250 including extremely comfortable, well-fitting Jeffries GP saddle and a good bridle, plus good quality rugs.
