Theo is the most amazing horse i know and deserves the world in his retirement home! Theo is our 19 year old bay gelding, who we have owned since June 2024. Since we bought him, Theo has been the best addition to the family and has been enjoyed by all, however, the time has finally come to retire him (due to no fault of his own) after spending the majority of his life in the riding school and having worked hard his whole life. As a result, he is quite arthritic, however, other than that he is perfectly healthy and happy. He deserves the world and would be the perfect companion horse as he is so sensible and can be left out by himself if necessary. Theo would be on 24/7 grass turnout and would need rugs changed when appropriate (all rugs are provided), his stay would need to be within 30 minutes of Winchester so we could see him whenever we wanted to, to ensure that he is being well looked after. He needs to be going to the best home we can find as he truly deserves everything. At his current yard, he is referred to as the “emotional support horse” as he gets moved around lots to fit other horses needs and makes sure that they all have friends. Theo doesn’t bat an eyelid at farm machinery or other vehicles (such as cars, bikes, motorbikes, quadbikes or tractors) and is happy as long as he has grass!

He is an absolute superstar on the lead rein and is 100% safe with children. He has done plenty with children and really knows his job. He would make a fantastic showing type pony and works nicely in an outline.

He loves his jumping and will happily have a pop, making him a fun little all-rounder for a child who wants to do a bit of everything.

He is, however, typical Welsh! 😜 He can be very nappy off the lead rein so would prefer a lead rein home or a teenager who loves the drama as likes to have his own opinions. He doesn’t enjoy hacking alone, but is absolutely happy hacking in company and has seen all traffic.

She was backed at 4yrs and turned away and brought back this spring and has been hacking and jumping small XC fences and SJ's. 3 good paces and works sweetly on the flat, bold and straightforward to a fence, not phased by any fillers and is happily jumping around 80cm currently.

Hunted a season with numerous packs, he proved mannerly at the meet and amongst the field. Jumped any timber that was put in front of him and even carried a novice rider out for a full days hunting.

Hacks alone and in company, sensible in open spaces and great in traffic. Good to shoe, box, clip, catch etc. Real workmanlike attitude and a lovely person to have around daily.

Lily 14.3hh 15 year old Connemara. Lily has been retired for the last 6 years after injuring both hind suspensory ligaments. She is field sound and has spent the last few years in different loan homes as a ‘professional companion’. She can live in or out, and is fine being left alone if another horse is taken out to be ridden. Lily is a huge character on the yard and loves all the fuss and attention. She is a real people person. She is a proven broodmare, and had a gorgeous Connemara foal a couple of years ago. She was a fantastic mum and could be completely left to it. She would be an asset for anyone looking for a broodmare. Looking for a long term loan home for this special girl. I have had her for the last 10 years and she will never be sold. She means a great deal to me. To note, although lily has never had laminitis she does get fat just looking at green grass and does need her waistline watching.

Leo - 13 year old miniature spotted gelding. Leo is a massive character who makes us laugh every day. He also lives in or out and does respect electric fencing as long as it’s turned on! He does like to have company, although he has previously lived alone for a short period and coped fine. He thrives on love and attention. He would stand all day to be brushed and cuddled. I’m sure he would love to have a go at some in-hand showing. He loads like a dream (he would follow his favourite people anywhere). Good to be bathed, clipped, for farrier etc. Please note Leo is not broken and is not suitable as a ridden pony. Due to his size and breed, Leo does need restricted grazing and preferably someone experienced in keeping little ones.

Both ponies are available for long term loan either together or separately. They will both have their full wardrobes with them. This is a very sad decision and homes will be vetted.
