Description
Cavannas I.C.U.P5yro gelding by Bullhill Major, out of a forest mare (by Brookshill Brumby), standing approx 14h.Buddy came to me to be backed earlier this year and while he has started his education well, he is proving to need more time, experience & consistency than his current family home can offer, therefore he is looking for a new home to carry on his education and see him reach his full potential. Buddy is well bred and very correct in his confirmation, with a fabulous temperament to match, everyone that meets him loves him. He is like a lamb to handle, turns out with anyone, quiet in his stable, good to lead & handle, loads & travels well and good for his feet to be trimmed. Under saddle Buddy is trotting on both reins fairly confidently and working over poles, he proves to be brave with his surroundings and not a spooky type. He has also hacked a little down the quiet country lanes, taking it all in his stride. When ridden he can become tense and scoot forwards, this has never escalated or been an issue for me, however this is something he is taking a while to work through and the owners feel it is not something they can confidently carry on with to guide him through, therefore he has to find his new home. He has never bucked, reared, bolted or shown any dangerous traits, he just needs time & patience. I have videos of him scooting forward for anyone interested in seeing what he does. We have loosed Buddy over a jump where he has proved very athletic, brave & keen, again I can provide videos of this. Buddy is a really lovely chap and a very smart type and someone will be getting a huge amount of potential for a very reasonable price to ensure he finds the perfect and a long term home. He has a huge amount of untapped potential to go into any sphere in the future. His owners absolutely adore him and are heartbroken to see him go, however we all feel this is the correct decision for both him and them, so he can have the correct education and enjoy his life when he learns what it’s all about.5* home only please.Open to vettingVideos available on request. Up to date with dentist, worming & trimming. Owners are motivated to sell so offers are welcomed OIRO £2500
🌟Kevin’s Choice🌟Corkie is a handsome 8 year old 16.1hh TB gelding. Unfortunately, I no longer have the time that he needs due to work commitments, meaning this is a very sad sale. He’s the perfect all rounder with loads of potential!!I have owned him since November 2021. He raced once in July 2021 and came 14 out of 15, so that wasn’t for him! He has a heart of gold and will try his best at anything he does.He is a safe ride but needs a confident rider as he’s inexperienced and can be unsure and nervous of things. Because of this, he isn’t a novice ride and needs a confident quiet rider. He is good to load, just needs patience. Brilliant to shoe, catch and do in all ways!We have competed in low level dressage and he has placed each time! We have also done a couple of clear rounds and gone clear too.Can jump well and has so much potential in all aspects of work. Hacks alone with a confident quiet rider, also hacks with others and will take lead if he needs to or will happily go in the middle or the back of the ride. He is ROR eligible. He does wind suck after eating or treats but this doesn’t affect his ability to work. He has also had a locked stifle previously but this was due to not being in work and has only happened a hand full of times. He does have pads in his fronts for extra support due to thin soles. However, this also doesn’t affect his work.He can be sold with correctly fitting tack if necessary. This was recently checked at the beginning of February.Home is by far more important than price!I would consider full loan to be kept at current yard which is located just outside of Dorchester. There is an amazing, very experienced instructor on-site, so lessons are available. Also plenty of hacking around.£3550 OnoAny questions please ask!
Pipkin is a beautiful new forest pony who has been backed professionally in December 2023. Sired by Lucky Lane Warrior and full green passport. I have not been able due to time to bring him on. He has been lunged, lead walked and ridden around the farm where he lives. Pip is very intelligent and quick learner BUT he is very strong and wilful and needs a confident and patient owner who can give him the time to bring him on to his full potential as he has heaps of it. He can be spooky but I think that’s confidence on my part he’s reacting to. He is almost 7 and is 13.2 (I think). He loves to be groomed and fussed over and would excel with someone that can give him lots of attention and patience. He is a bit nervous of farriers, sadly due to a bad experience but I have worked on this picking his feet up etc and seems much better. He lives with his half brother and my cob outdoors and does very well. I’ve had him since he was one so this is a tough decision and I would love him to go to a forever home. I do not want him sold on - if it doesn’t work he comes home. All vaccinated and wormed. Sold from the field £2000
Hamish has just turned 6Professionally started March 2024, long reined, and hacked out on his own and in company, good with either. Quietly hacked and lunged once a week over the summer Spent 5 weeks being professionally schooled October/Nov 2024. Nice walk, trot and canter in school and has popped a few small cross poles. He has now had the winter off and needs to be in work. Sold from fieldSold as a project as he can be headstrong, I am happy to discuss this fullyHe is not at this stage suitable for novice riders or handlerGood to catch, respectful of electric fencing, reasonable with farrier and mostly good to leadSuitably experienced home more important than price. Offers around £2000. Full wardrobe available Owner giving up horsesVideos of Hamish in work available
Mouse is a rising 5 year old, 16hh, Thoroughbred Mare, with bucket loads of potential. I have owned Mouse for over a year, during which time I gave her 6 months to play ponies in my field with my other two horses, to enjoy spending some time to mature. She last raced in January 2023, and was only raced twice. She was brought back into work, and seems to be one of those horses who just gets it, with such a loving temperament. She will make someone an amazing riding/competition horse. She has excelled in flatwork and was showing great potential in her jumping, with plenty of scope!Unfortunately I have started a degree and I simply do not have the time she deserves, to reach her full potential. She is therefore sold from the field and has been out of work for a couple of months. I have huge amounts of videos to share of her in work. She does windsuck, however this hugely decreases when she is in work and has somewhere else to focus her energy, she will also benefit from more of a routine than I am able to offer her. Will be a totally honest sale as it is important this mare goes to the right home. Sold from the field £1500 ONO including tack.
This is Ambrose, he is around 12.3hh, 6 years old & a gorgeous grey roan. Ambrose has been with us since he was two & was purchased from a local breeder. He was intended as a first pony for my daughter however she just isn’t capable or confident enough for him & he is currently a field ornament which is not what I want for him & unfortunately I am too big for him. I believe he will make the most wonderful pony for either a very confident older child or as a second ridden & could go far with the right rider! He has some lovely moves on him & enjoys to jump, with a nice little pop to him! Ambrose was backed when he was 4 & then turned away to mature. He has been ridden & worked on and off since then but he really is going to waste with us now as I don’t have a suitable rider & I would love to see him thrive. He would suit a home with a routine & regular work to bring him on as he is still very green & to open up his full potential, this pony is not suited to novice riders or handlers currently, he needs an experienced home. Thrives on fresh air, been unrugged & has lived out 24/7 since we have owned him however was stabled at his previous home. Can be a pain to catch if not in regular work, okay with the farrier with confident handler, has had teeth done & was okay also with confident handler, he isn't fazed by alot and is very confident he just needs a firm but kind hand & regular work. Home is more important then price 5* homes only that can meet his requirements, he is such a sweet special boy who is very loved & we will be heartbroken to see him go, we are only selling him to give him a chance to reach his full potential. £995ono.
Gorgeous Bay ISH, 9 years old. 16.1hh. This lad needs a special home therefore serious enquires only.He was broken at 7 years old so he is very green as he has not been ridden much.Excellent ground manners, good with farrier, dentist and easy to catch.Hacks alone or in company, in front or behind. Good with traffic.Ralphy needs a very confident rider who is experienced with highly strung horses. He currently lacks muscle and he will need building up slowly and to continue his education.5* forever home and homes will be checked. I’m not looking for a quick sale, he stays until the perfect person is matched.
3yr old Welsh A gelding. Clipped and started his backing process has a dental appointment on the 27th as he’s a little sharp and a wolf tooth needs removing. Offered at a cheaper price before he’s finally backed and ridden away. By Arad Epic so has got some really nice lines with ponies proving great riddens. He will be an easy quick project or easy turn around for someone wanting a blank canvas. Has been left on the hill of Snowdonia to mature for the last year. Super easy, very kind boy be a fantastic child pony. He was shown from foal to 2yr old and then left. Registered chocolate Dun…Standing 12hh lots of filling out to do now but he’s a real showman, turns out with mates and geldings, respects electric fence and easy to catch, load and travel etc. clipped him first time ever stood loose eating his hay. 1000 or best offer transport available at cost but free transport within 50 miles of SN9
George was taken on as a rehab project but sadly my health and circumstances have failed me in continuing this work.He is 10 yrs old and has quite a dubious background resulting in him being in high alert at all times, more akin to a thoroughbred, I believe he needs a routine regimen where he knows what’s happening and at what time and where facilities and others are around to help, sadly I have neither of these as I’m on my own and am on the wrong side of 50 now and my health is failing me.Someone young, experienced and confident would suit this lad perfectly, to give him a routine and take him right back to basics and start again.Given time and patience I am convinced he will make someone a fabulous competition horse as he has shown a lot of scope in jumping, he has jumped a 1.6m fence with ease.If you feel you can offer George the home he desperately needs please contact me, remember George is quite a handful, although not in any way a nasty horse, in fact quite the opposite, he is just in flight mode all the time and my sensibilities are struggling with this.I’m asking for a nominal amount of money for him so he doesn’t fall into the wrong hands again, a 5* home is far more important than money.
Mini cob 12.2 should make 13hh chunky 4 yr old mare, has started her education under saddle and has been long reined and lunged. Taken on the roads and is good in traffic. Has had a child sat on her and led around. Moves nicely, with a striking blue eye and full feathers. Currently stabled at night but would happily live out. She needs a knowledgeable home and time to be brought on would make a great child’s pony or suitable for a small adult. She is bare foot with good strong feet behaves for the farrier, up to date with vaccinations, teeth and worming. £1250 Ono
* REDUCED *Looking for a new home due to no fault of his own, sadly a change in personal circumstances has forced sale - Happy to discuss further. Currently standing at 14.2hh to make no bigger than 15hh.He is such a funny character and loved by all on the yard and comes to call from the field like a big dog.Handled by various people on the yard and is a delight to be around.Very sad sale, as I have had him since a yearling. He has the foundations of some great education and groundwork under his belt, but due to lack of time and facilities he is currently unbacked. Because of his kind, bold and wanting to please personality he will be a dream to back and start his ridden career. He has been on in hand walks and seen traffic, has been ponied off of another horse on a hack through the South Downs in just a headcollar and was extremely well behaved, he has been introduced to long reining and has taken this all in his stride, also happily accepts a bitted bridle with saddle and girth. Again due to lack of facilities and time unfortunately we haven’t been able to lunge him, but I don’t think it would take very long for him to learn, as he’s a very smart boy! Ties up nicely and loves a bath and a groom, very easy to do in all ways!Happy to live in or out, rugged or unrugged as he grows a lovely thick winter coat.He currently lives out 24/7 unrugged with a field mate, but he has previously been in a herd of 6 and also stabled at night over winter which he really enjoyed. He can be sharp to pick up his back feet, but once you have them he is fine. My farrier has suggested that as he had mud fever as a foal, he probably links lifting his back feet up to pain and irritation. My farrier is fantastic with him and very patient, as he can kick out with his back feet, but with repetition I’m sure he will grow out of this.Due to lack of time he hasn’t been long reined, walked out in hand or ponied for a while, so he has been a field ornament for the last year. He would really benefit from a 1-to-1 home with someone who can give him all of their love and attention. Up to date with jabs, worming, farrier, physio & dentist.Open to vettings.£3,000 OVNO, based near Petersfield, Hampshire.https://youtube.com/shorts/no9HT6-sO8I?feature=sharedhttps://youtube.com/shorts/y0q4WB42PGc?feature=sharedhttps://youtube.com/shorts/lPdqrd7Vhng?feature=shared

Good temperament and easy to handle. She comes from good breeding and will make an exceptional competition pony. This is a reluctant sale but due to a change in our circumstances we have no choice. Gretel is a stunning 15.3hh (on passport, but she is more like 16.1hh!) grey Irish Draught x Thoroughbred mare with a charming and funny nature. She is registered with CHAPs as she is actually a secret piebald (shows when wet!) rather special and pretty! At 17 years old, she is sound and in good health with no known issues. Gretel thrives in a herd environment and enjoys the company of other horses. She is excellent in traffic and safe to ride along roads. Before her current home, Gretel was used as a trekking horse and has become accustomed to hacking in groups, which explains why she does best in a herd environment. She is great with the farrier, easy to catch (comes when called!), but has always been sedated for the dentist. Gretel can also be a bit suspicious of strangers until she becomes familiar with them.Sadly, due to a loss of confidence, her current owner has not ridden Gretel for 12 months. When she first brought Gretel home, she tried to ride her out alone, but Gretel showed signs of napping, spinning, or would plant herself. This behavior may be linked to separation anxiety, as she calls to herd mates when separated. It is believed that Gretel senses the rider’s nervousness, which feeds into Gretel’s own anxiety, making solo rides a challenge. Therefore she is only suitable for a confident experienced rider. This decision is heart breaking for her owner, as she loves Gretel dearly and feels guilty admitting that Gretel may not be the right horse for her! She is searching for a confident and knowledgeable rider who can provide Gretel with the leadership and companionship she needs to thrive. Snaffle mouth, not strong but a sensitive ride. Currently lives out 24/7 year round happily in a mixed herd, easy to do, thrives on grass, hay and balancer only diet! A kind, understanding home is far more important than the price, If you have the experience and confidence to work with Gretel and give her the loving home she deserves, please get in touch. I believe she could make a wonderful partner for the right person! Sold from field, hence price. She will need bringing back into work. £1,800 inc rugs. (Tack available for separate negotiation inc nearly new GP leather trek saddle and brand new unused leather bridle)
A gorgeous gelding, 3 years old, needs an experienced home as a complete blank canvas. Fantastic temperament.Roughly 13.1, stocky build. Does have a couple of sarcoids. The best home is of utmost importance over price.
Approx 13h 5 year old cob mare used as a broodmare and has had 2 foals. This years foal by a dun stallion is also reluctantly available-coloured colt under separate advertisementMare had always lived in a large herd before I got her. She is unsure of people until she gets to know you. Sometimes difficult to catch but always get her with a bit of food! Lives in or out on own or with othersFine to tie up lead load groom worm farrier Passported and chippedShe’s a blue and white with 2 blue eyes Was running with sun stallion after foaling in June. Not had her scannedI don’t have the time to do something with her over winter and need to cut down on numbers.
13hh (although can take a lightweight adult as she really takes up the leg - I’m 5’6)8 year old Cob mareVery sweet temperament, can be handled by anyoneBought as a first ridden but is not quite yet the first pony we want.Initially, she was very nervous hacking out alone and didn’t seem to have had any experience of the open forest (bikes, dogs, ponies, cows ,donkeys, hikers etc) so we went back to basics and slowly restarted her by going out in-hand and on lunge lines. She is now going very nicely under saddle at walk and trot in the forest, mostly alone (but occasionally in company), coping with cows, bikes, dogs, traffic, crab flies, forest ponies etcHowever, we recently started canter work and initially she put in a couple of broncs going into canter (not every time, but enough to indicate a potential issue). We discovered that her saddle was slipping as it was too wide (now adjusted) and she also had physio (where she was tight in her back, possibly where the saddle was slipping). She seems much better after saddle adjustment and treatment and a friend has cantered her once since with no problem. However, I have just stuck with walk and trot (at which she is very reliable) and feel that really she probably needs to go to a competent rider who can develop her canter work further (and sit the bronc should it re-emerge)Hence I’m selling her as a project, as I think she needs someone with experience to help her with this transition.Lots of videos of her being ridden in the forest are available.Happy to show what she’s like under saddle at walk and trot (possibly canter if we feel she is ready to try that again at the time of viewing..)Great on the ground, with farrier, to catch, tack up, groom etcCurrently unshodGood with other ponies that I have put her in withVetting welcomeWelcome to come and view her as many times as you like (but sorry no trials)Price negotiable if you can give her a good home (OIRO £1800). No novices or childrenSome tack may be available by seperate negotiationPlease message for pics and videos.
