Description

12.2hh gelding 20 years old, for full loan as light hack/companion. Our much loved pony, tentatively offered to right home only. He would be a lovely companion pony, can be used as a light hack for rider under 9 stone. Very laid back, nothing phases him, easy to do. Would like small adult for him who needs a companion pony and or light hacking. Will only let him go to the perfect home and must stay local, he is very loved and would never sell him. He’s on a big busy yard/ farm and I think a quieter home if the right one is out there might be nice for him.

Description

I am looking for a loan home for my horse and would be happy for him to move to a suitable yard within the local counties.

I have owned him for the last 2.5 years, having taken him straight from racing. Although he was technically a racehorse, it's fair to say he wasn't cut out for it. He only started once, where he was pulled up after being so far behind the field, and he also ran once in a point-to-point.

When he first came to me, I gave him around six months off to be a horse. He lived as a companion to another horse we were rehabilitating, allowing him to gain weight, relax, and leave racing behind. Since then, he has been brought back into work gradually and has been a pleasure. I've taken things slowly with him, because I adore him and wanted to do everything slowly.

The majority of his work is hacking, which he enjoys. We've hacked in all sorts of places, and he is exceptionally sensible. He is fantastic in traffic, unfazed by windy weather, wheelie bins, livestock, farm machinery and the sort of things you'd expect a horse to question. Sheep, cows, llamas – none of them bother him. The one thing to note is that he much prefers hacking alone. He can become tense when ridden in company. I have no doubt this could be improved with consistent work, but as I'm based on a small yard and generally hack solo myself, it hasn't been something I've focused on.

He schools once a week and is occasionally lunged, but hacking is where he is happiest. He is always kept up to date with McTimoney treatments and physiotherapy, as I feel that's especially important for a larger horse with a racing background.

In every other respect, he is wonderfully straightforward. He is easy to catch, load, clip, shoe (although he does like to leave plenty of droppings for the farrier!), have his teeth done and handle on the ground. He is excellent coming in from and going out to the field, has no stable vices and is happy in the field. He currently lives out at night, as that's the routine in our yard, but he also spent around seven weeks stabled overnight last year without any change in behaviour. I suspect he would happily live out full-time, provided he had adequate shelter, feed, and was kept warm enough.

He is an easy keeper and currently lives on pony nuts and Fibre Light chaff. He is a genuine yard favourite, and whenever I've been away I'm regularly told what a "superstar" he is and what a lovely horse he is to look after. He really is kind, affectionate and loves attention. Grooming is one of his favourite things, and he'll happily stand that for hours.

While he is incredibly sensible 98% of the time and is much more whoa than go, he is still a large, fairly young Thoroughbred. Like any horse, he can occasionally have a sharp moment, so I am looking for someone with Thoroughbred experience who is a confident, capable rider. He rarely spins or reacts dramatically, but I want him to be with someone who understands the breed and can ride him sympathetically.

Because finding the right home is so important to me, I will only consider enquiries from experienced homes that I have thoroughly vetted, and I will retain his passport throughout the loan.

Please do not get in touch if you are a novice rider or weigh over 11½ stone. For reference, I am 5ft 5in and approximately 9 stone in the photographs, although I do have long legs.

I have tried to be completely honest about him because he deserves the very best home. He is a genuinely lovely horse with so much to offer, and I would much rather be upfront about every aspect of him than have anyone's expectations unmet. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask. Could also be a companion as he is so good in the field!

Description

We are seeking a full loan home for our much loved 13.2h, 17 year old New Forest gelding who we have owned since he was 5. Freckles has been ridden by all three of our boys and now that our youngest has outgrown him, we’re looking for a new home where he can continue to be enjoyed and kept active.

Freckles is an incredibly versatile pony who loves to have a job. He is a superb and very careful little jumper, loves cross country and water, and has taken part in many pony club activities (rallies, Camps, Fun rides & some pony racing), but hunting is his forte!

He is excellent to catch, clip, box, and shoe, and is sensible in traffic (although he doesn’t particularly like motorbikes) and has a lovely, cheeky personality! He has never bolted, is great in open spaces (ridden extensively across Salisbury Plain) and is easy to stop. He is also extremely responsive to voice commands. He is happy to be ridden alone or in company but can get excited when cantering behind others.

He lives out 24/7 but as a native pony and a good doer (but not laminitic), he MUST be on restricted grazing. He is up to date with vaccinations, teeth and shoeing. He prefers company but has lived happily alone when needed.

Freckles is forward going and can occasionally be a little nappy, so for that reason he is NOT a first pony, nor would he suit a novice or nervous rider. He is not strong and prefers a rider with light hands. He would suit a confident, capable teenager or small, lightweight adult who can offer calm reassurance and consistent riding.

We are seeking a loving, knowledgeable and experienced long term full loan home, ideally reasonably local to Warminster but the right home is more important than distance, who will offer him a fun and varied life appropriate to his age….and most importantly a home where he will be treated as one of the family and loved! The decision to put him out on loan has been very difficult and very sad, but one that we know is right for Freckles. He’s a fabulous pony with great purpose and great presence but who is currently being wasted in the field.

No novices please.

Please contact me for more information. Plenty more photos and videos available on request.

Description

Looking a full or part time loan for an experienced confident rider.

Burdock is my fabulous New Forest X thoroughbred gelding who loves his work.

I have owned him for the last 8 years and we have done everything together.
I am looking for a competent rider to take over his care whilst I am studying away at university.
Burdock is 21 years young with a great character and a heart of gold. He is good to shoe, lead, groom, tack up etc.

We are looking for a gentle confident person to take care of him as he does have his quirks, but never anything nasty.

We have previously done a lot of 80-90 cm eventing as well as competing in the individual disciplines. He loves putting his mind to work so ideally, we would like his loan home to have access to an arena where he can have the full exercise he needs to keep him entertained.

Burdock does have arthritis in his hocks which are medicated to improve his comfort. This is not reflected in his movements and with his proper care it goes unnoticed. With this being said – We are looking for a less competitive loan home, but more someone who is looking for a great horse to have a good jump/school session and chilled hacking. He also produces lovely dressage tests and moves well through walk, trot and canter.

He is a sensitive soul and benefits from some TLC so I need a confident and experienced rider to care for him.
We are based in New Milton and ideally want Burdock to stay at our current yard with amazing facilities and excellent eventing coach on site. Burdock is on part livery currently which can continue so he only needs to be attended to once a day. Open to full or part time loan arrange with financial contribution to costs.

For more information please contact myself, Rosie or Helen through Whatsapp.

🌟 5★ Experienced Loan Home Wanted for Barney 🌟

Barney is a stunning 16.1hh bay Irish Sports Horse, 14 years young, looking for a 5★ experienced loan home (would consider sale to right person).

He is a kind, well-mannered horse with a great personality and plenty of presence. Barney is easy to handle on the ground and enjoys fuss, cuddles, and attention. He is polite to lead, clip, shoe, and manage day-to-day, although he can be quirky ie noise sensitive to sounds above him (no flapping with coats jangling keys etc).

Barney has a successful eventing background, having competed and won at BE90 and placed at BE100 level. He was evented successfully after being diagnosed with AF, which does not affect his work. He has now retired from jumping/eventing due to a previous injury, from which he has fully recovered, and is now looking for a hacking and flatwork-only home.

He enjoys having a job and thrives when ridden regularly.

Barney hacks well both alone and in company. He is snaffle mouthed at all times.

Requirements:

* Experienced rider only (absolutely no novices or riders looking for a confidence giver)
* Light, balanced rider preferred (current rider approx. 10st7, 5ft5)

Barney is currently based at Bovington and can remain there, or can move. He turns out alone or in small herd.

Videos available on request.

Finn is an 18hh, 23yo ID X TB, who has been there and done that. Finn has spent most of his life hunting and eventing, and has now settled into his golden years as a hacking buddy.
Sadly, due to a recent change in personal circumstance, I am now unable to give Finn the attention he deserves. As such, I am looking for a 5* home to take him on a full loan agreement. I would be open to him moving yards if this was 5* and met all of his needs. His current yard boasts:

• Direct forest access to great hacking
• Arena hire within a 5 minute walk
• Pubs to ride out to!
• Owners live on site and do nightly checks/morning feeds daily
• Well-drained ground for the winter months
• Hacking buddies!

After a busy start to life, Finn now has OA in his hocks and coffin joints, which means he is no longer able to jump on a regular basis.

However, he is comfortable in all 3 paces, and will never say no to a gallop across the forest! The occasional pop over a log is fine too, as long as the ground conditions permit. If you were wanting to do any arena hires, Finn is more than happy doing polework and cavelettis. Finn is a gentle giant, who is an honest, strong, and steady ride. He never bucks, rears, or bolts. Think push button ride. However, he knows his own mind, and can sometimes be reluctant when hacking alone somewhere new; never anything nasty, but requires a confident rider who will give him confidence in turn!

No novices or under 18s. He is good to do in all ways on the ground, and is used to dogs and children milling around. Finn loves to be loved, and will happily stand for hours to be bathed/clipped/plaited. His favourite thing in the world is his treat ball!!

He is my best friend and the most gentle and kind horse you will ever meet (and is completely stunning). This is a very hard decision for me, but one that will benefit him in the long run.

https://youtu.be/2pQol6PgNu0?si=NdZOBhch-izD2v4h (Quite old now, however a video showcasing Finn in action!)

Please feel free to text or email me in the first instance if you would like any further details, or to arrange a viewing. ☺️

Flame is a beautiful 13.2hh, 15 year old, Welsh section C Mare. Super allrounder, been there done it type. Our daughter has taken her showing, show jumping, cross country, dressage, pony club rallies and camps as well as many competitions where she has come back with rosettes and trophies. She has helped our daughter gain confidence and grow in every discipline. She is an amazing little pony who flourishes with a confident rider, she is not a lead rein or beginners pony. She travels well, hacks out in company, will stand for hours being pampered and fussed over.

Only available for loan as my daughter has outgrown her and can’t bear to part with her. Preferably to stay at a lovely small, friendly and relaxed family run livery yard in the New Forest, hacking onto the forest, 20x40 arena, all year turn out. Would consider her moving locally to the right yard.

Please get in touch for further information.

Description

Due to pregnancy, I am offering my lovely Rebel for full loan. Rebel is a 15.3hh, full bred Irish draught, 15 year old, gelding.

I would love to find Rebel a home where he will be loved and enjoyed while I am off games and for the foreseeable future. He is currently being wasted, in light work.

I have owned Rebel for 4 years and we have taken part in a variety of low level activities such as showjumping clinics, dressage (prelim), fun rides, showing and more. He is such a wonderful allrounder. He is good to hack alone and in company, will go first or last. He is good to load and travel. I have travelled him in a trailer, 3.5t and 18t lorry.

He is good for the farrier and vet. He can be left in the stable on his own. Can be a little headshy with strangers but nothing major.

The ideal home for Rebel would be mainly hacking, fun rides, clinics and low level competitions with a teenager or adult. I just wish for him to have fun. I don’t really want Rebel to do tonnes of schooling / dressage just as this isn’t something he enjoys. He loves jumping but this isn’t something I’ve done loads of with him due to being a bit of a pansy myself.

Rebel is a forward but fun ride, can be a little spooky but nothing ridiculous. Can be strong on fun rides. I used to hunt Rebel a lot which is his favourite but he is very, very strong. Therefore he is not a novice ride. Always in a snaffle at home.

He does have melanomas which need keeping an eye on but do not cause him any issues.

He also had an episode of laminitis this spring, first time he’s had it purely due to the lack of work and is now sound and doing well but this will obviously need maintaining. Will not be an issue if he is kept in work and off lovely sweet grass!

I am in no rush to find somewhere for Rebel, I just want what is best for him and it saddens me to see him being wasted. I would ideally need references for a candidate home as well as coming to have a look before he moves and frequent visits. 5 star home is an absolute must.

Alternatively, I am open to having a sharer or two for him to stay at his current yard in Alton.

Please contact me for more information or any questions.

Thank you for reading!

Description

Nobby is an 8-year-old ex-racehorse Thoroughbred looking for a confident rider to enjoy him and continue his education. He's done a bit of everything but is still green, so he isn't suitable for a novice and would ideally suit someone with TB experience.

His favourite thing is hacking and he absolutely loves a good canter. He's bombproof in heavy traffic and very sensible in open spaces. Like many young TBs, he can occasionally have a look at a scary bin or puddle, but a bit of reassurance is usually all he needs.

He can occasionally throw an excited buck when he's feeling fresh, but he's never bolted and I've always felt safe riding him, even while pregnant.

He has been known to rear in the school on occasion, although this isn't a regular occurrence. He currently does little schoolwork as hacking is where he's happiest.

On the ground, he's a lovely, affectionate horse with good manners. He's easy to catch, lead and handle, stands well for the farrier, and is happy living out alone or with others, although he's a little low in the pecking order and can get bullied.

He did go through a phase of being difficult to come in from the field with his current loaner, but a change in feed and a consistent routine completely resolved the issue.

He loves being groomed, and a few treats will make you his best friend!

I'm looking for someone kind, reliable and confident who wants to enjoy hacking and spending time with a lovely horse. Age isn't important, although under-18s will need a parent or guardian to contact me.

Nobby is currently on loan in Melksham but will be returning to my yard in **Everleigh** at the end of September. His current loaner would be more than happy to provide a reference.

I'm a laid-back owner and simply want someone who will enjoy him and put his welfare first. If the right person comes along, I'd also consider moving him to a more convenient yard for both of us.

If you'd like to know more, please WhatsApp me on 07366 413088. — in Everleigh, Wiltshire.

Freddie is a gorgeous fun 14.2 Connemara gelding.
He has been with me nearly 7 years, and it is important for me to find a competent and loving Rider for him. He is a forward going with a mature head on his shoulders. He has done absolutely everything with me from competing up to 90s with me to areas to pony club champs and been to fun rides! He is such a fun and talented loving pony. I am looking for a home for him to stay at for a while whilst I travel and do a bit more living! He needs a confident rider who has a lot of knowledge - he is not an easy or ‘first’ pony. He does have the odd dance move (buck) but would never rear, take off or whip round with you! As soon as you get to know him you will absolutely love him! He’s been the best and most fun pony I’ve ever had.
He is to stay at current yard which has a huge hacking field, XC field & show jumping field + a 40x60 outdoor school with lights OR be in Salisbury so I am close to him. Open to this if you do a month / 2 month trail on him. He hasn’t been doing too much at the moment so does need a bit of TLC and some fitness training in place. I would ideally like him to go to another daughter share / fun rides and hacking home but open to ideas. Please send me a message or give me a call and I’ll get back to you asap

Royal is a much loved family horse, he has been ridden by all ages of the family - in his day was an excellent show jumper but due to his age we are now looking for a loving home for him as a companion horse and light hacking. He is 27 year old Connemara. He lives out 24/7 and is happy with both mares and geldings. Easy to handle, load, never bucks or rears. For full loan

Please read the full AD.

This is Prince. Prince is a 16HH standardbred , 16 years old. He is available for full loan as I am pregnant and don’t feel I can make as much time for him as he deserves when baby arrives for some time.

I’d like Prince to stay at his current yard in Salisbury as this is where he is happy and most content , however I will seriously think about allowing him to move for the absolute right person and it will not be anymore than 45min from Salisbury, but I will prioritise people who will keep him at his current yard first. Our yard has a very large floodlit arena , the most gorgeous hacking too where you can go for miles and the most loveliest people on the yard.

He is my absolute everything and he will not go to anyone, I would still like to see him aswell.

Prince is currently kept in overnight in the winter months and out 24/7 in the summer months. He does not do well on 24/7 turnout all year round.

Prince is the most loveliest boy and he genuinely is worth his weight in gold. He is green in the school but with the correct work and time he has so much potential I’ve just always been a happy hacker with him with the occasional lesson in the school.
I have done beach ride, fun ride, pole clinic with him and each time he has been brilliant

He can spook as any other horse but he isn’t nasty, he doesn’t rear or buck. He can nap but again not dangerous and you just need your leg and to be stern. He is shod on all 4 and is to be kept shod on all 4 as he has sore feet without shoes

He is absolutely perfect for dentist, farrier, loading in a lorry or a trailer etc etc , he is up to date with everything also.

I have sooo many photos and videos I can send and can discuss any questions with you.

A contract will be in place, and he is NOT for sale at the moment . Please do message if you are interested and any questions 🫶🏻

Description

Rose is a beautiful 16.1hh, 14-year-old chestnut mare looking for a kind and knowledgeable home.

She is chilled, kind-natured and easy to have around. A very low-maintenance girl who happily lives off very little and is easy to manage day-to-day.

Rose is fantastic as a companion — relaxed, settled and happy in the field, and if you take your other horse away, she is perfectly fine staying behind on her own.

There is also the possibility for light hacking with the right person. Rose is sound; however, she does have navicular, so this would need to be carefully managed by an experienced and sympathetic rider. She is easy in the right hands, but she is not suitable for novices.

A genuinely lovely mare looking for a quiet, caring home where she can be loved and enjoyed. ❤️

Please message for more information.

Pebbles is the sweetest most gentle soul. He is now 17 and spent most of his life show jumping. When he came to us he lived a more generic and relaxed way of life due to his mild navicular. In the 5 years we have had him he has never been lame until recently. Unfortunately this coincided with my daughter no longer having time to ride. He has been treated for coffin joint arthritis with a steroid injection last week. We are extremely hopeful that this will be successful and he will be able to enjoy low level hacking🤞
If it does not work we will be looking for a loving and genuine home. He would make an amazing therapy horse and still has so much to give.
Pebbles has perfect manners, is fantastic to shoe, box, clip. Will happily live with geldings or mares and will live in or out.
Genuine enquiries only please, 5* home wanted

Description

We are looking to find a more suitable home for our miniture sheltland.

We got her about 2 years ago to be a companion pony to my husbands 16.3HH thoroughbred mare. My husband sadly lost his mare shortly after so since then, Tinks has had a few different jobs.

She isn’t the best companion, as she doesn’t like being alone! If she can see another pony she is totally fine, but she wouldn’t suit being on a sole use yard where she would be the only pony remaining if the rest go out. She just screams and runs around but it isn’t fair on her & isn’t what we would like for her.

In the time we have had her, she has done some therapy pony work with a lady we field shared with for a while. My youngest daughter has also ridden her (walk & trot only) on the lead rein on little hacks. She has also covered many miles accompanying us on hacks without a rider & doesn’t need to be lead, she will just follow.

She isn’t a kids pony by any means, once caught she will tolerate being brushed and has always been fine with my daughter pottering around on her, but I wouldn’t trust her 100% with little ones on the ground and she has never been officially broken as far as I am aware.

She is a typical mini Shetland with small pony syndrome! She is sassy, funny & very opinionated.

As far as I am aware, she has never had laminitis, but she does need careful managing and couldn’t be turned out on endless grass. She suits living out 24/7 and doesn’t enjoy being stabled.

She is up to date with farrier, teeth & worming. She is about 13 years old and has a passport/ microchip. She isn’t registered, she is on a generic passport. She wouldn’t be suitable for in hand showing as she has awful confirmation. She is never sick or sorry, lives off fresh air & you certainly won’t end up with big feed bills! She never gets rugged (although she does have 2 rugs and a fly rug) She probably wouldn’t suit living with another mini, when we tied her before she was vile. She probably needs a pony bigger than her to keep her in her place!

If you have read to the end and think you could offer her a loving home, please do contact me on 07740003135. She will come with her rugs (that probably will never be needed!) and head collar. She doesn’t have any tack, was always ridden in a head collar and my daughters inky dinky saddle that is now used on another pony.

I would love to find her a home that will love her! Full loan only, although if it all works out I would happily sign her over. All homes to be vetted & checks will be carried out periodically once in your care.

FOR FULL LOAN
As I'm getting older i'm finding it more difficult to ride all the time and give Freddie all the time that he needs and deserves - i am looking for a full loan / or a part loan to contribute to the price of his up keep.
Freddie has been with me for nearly 6 years now and it's so important for me to find the right home willing to treat him like the little prince he is, and also be able to keep him in good condition and ride him well. Freddie is not a novice ride but he has a level head on his shoulders. He occasionally shows the odd dance move (with a buck) but would never take off or whip round with you. At times he can be strong when he's excited but would never take off with you. He hacks in company or without. He's well behaved on the ground and loves all the attention he can get
He's a full up 14.2 going on 14.3 with shoes Connemara gelding. He's 10.
I would preferably want him to go to a home with a mother daughter share as I think that's best for him - but open to ideas. Would be ideal home for someone who wants to hack/ take out for clinics/ fun rides. I have a trailer that you can use which we can discuss.
No time's wasters please as he's a gem of a pony looking for a very kind person to have him - please contact me for further info - he is to STAY at current yard.
