Description
Lilly is 21 years young. A lovely fun hack who still has so much fun to give and still loves her work so is missing out in her current home due to owners work/life commitments. Lilly has many years experience hunting. She is a fun and forward hack but NEVER bucks or rears. She can be nervous alone but is fine if her rider is confident and reassuring. Same applies to traffic - nervous but improves with reassurance from her rider. Lilly spent many years as a working livery at a local riding school so is used to being ridden by younger riders but would not tolerate spending all of her life in a school - she loves to hack. She isn’t a keen jumper but will jump the odd fence but not suited to a person who wants to jump regularly. She is never sick or sorry and is a good doer that lives out 24/7 with company. She is excellent on the ground and good to catch/shoe/load and travel but she needs sedating to clip.
The type of horse that everyone wants is available for full loan. Apollo is 6 in July and has had a really solid foundation of education. He wouldn’t be for loan if it wasn’t for illness in my family which is taking priority on my time due to caring commitments. I don’t want him turned away in a field as he loves his work, hence deciding to loan him.He is not to go any further that 1 hours drive from SP10 (Andover, Hampshire). 14 stone weight limit.About him:- He is an honest, safe ride that has 3 fantastic paces and enjoys a jump- He is green in the arena but has been professionally schooled so is building a great foundation- He has lovely paces and is very comfortable to ride- He is very likely to make a great hunting horse- He is bold and level headed out hacking on his own or in company (including groups)- He is as bomb proof as a 6 year old can be- Is shod all round and good to shoe- He is still having a small amount of sedation to clip but is getting better!- He is generally easy to handle on the ground- Will travel well in lorry or trailerDespite the above, he is a YOUNG horse and can have baby moments. What he needs: - He is still a young horse so will occasionally need his hoof held and pushed past things- For this reason he won’t be loaned to a novice or nervous rider- He thrives with boundaries and a routine- He prefers being out with just one other horse but has been in a herd previously- Preference will go to somewhere that he can be turned out with another horse- He can be out 247 (which is prefers) or stabled in the day/night (he won't go somewhere with limited turnout)- He LOVES to work and gets bored if not using his brain- Needs to continue some ground/pole work to continue building his strength as he continues to grow - Has some supplements that he needs to continue (which I will supply)- He will need his weight managed- He would prefer a small/medium yardThere will be a loan agreement in place and an agreed sale price, should this be mutually agreed in the future. However, he is not for sale currently. Please be honest about your ability as I want the loan period to be for a substantial time. He is not suitable for a novice rider, someone coming back into riding, he isn't a confidence giver and he isn't for a child. This is because of his age and the home that I hope to find for him.Photos and videos available on request. I am getting a lot of queries so please send videos of you riding and some information about your set-up, your experience and what you'd like to do with him.
Pebbles is the sweetest most gentle soul. He is now 17 and spent most of his life show jumping. When he came to us he lived a more generic and relaxed way of life due to his mild navicular. In the 5 years we have had him he has never been lame until recently. Unfortunately this coincided with my daughter no longer having time to ride. He has been treated for coffin joint arthritis with a steroid injection last week. We are extremely hopeful that this will be successful and he will be able to enjoy low level hacking🤞If it does not work we will be looking for a loving and genuine home. He would make an amazing therapy horse and still has so much to give.Pebbles has perfect manners, is fantastic to shoe, box, clip. Will happily live with geldings or mares and will live in or out.Genuine enquiries only please, 5* home wanted
Looking for a companion home for Coco 15.2 rising 14 ISH mare (Irish Draught Passport) Coco has been out of work and turned away for about a year due to pulling a tendon but is totally field sound. The vet advised to turn her away for a month and has done nothing since. Before that we were hacking out and doing fun/pub rides which she really enjoyed. She could be brought back in to work but advertising as a companion only so there are no expectations. She can live in or out but is currently living out 24/7 in a mixed herd. She is a good doer so you do have to watch her weight. She has never had laminitis with me the few years I have owned her.She is super easy on the ground and will stand for hours for a pamper.Excellent to shoe, clip and loads first time.Up to date with teeth, injections worming, farrier (currently barefoot) She has slight seedy toe but causing no issues according to her farrier.Happy for her to go on full loan with a view to a permanent home but in no rush to find her a loving long term home she deserves.
Full loan to move yards, companion or hacking home for confident light adult14hh Welsh gelding, 15 years. Looking for a permanent / long term loan to move yards either as a companion or happy hacker, or possibly hunt. During the 4.5 years he’s been with us, he’s done a bit of everything with my daughter from pony club camps and going to the beach. He can be a quirky ride im the school hence why we feel that a quieter life in a hacking or companion home would suit him best, happy to disclose quirks. He did go hunting at the end of the season and was as good as gold. He can be a bit spooky and sometimes shoot forward, but nothing a confident rider couldn’t deal with….as a 50 year old mum, I hack him. Will hack alone and in company not nappy or strong, very occasionally might have a small excited buck, haven’t hacked him on busy roads as never needed to. Hasn’t done much over the winter apart from the odd hack, due to daughter having a horse on loan. Good on the ground, doesn’t bite or kick and respectful of fencing. Can be a little nervous with new people and the vet but once he gets to know you he is very sweet. To live out 24/7 with either a shelter or stable if weather is awful, healthy and a good doer, barefoot and up to date with everything, happy to be left in the field. Happy for him to move yards within an hour of Winchester, I’d want a loan agreement in place and some references along with being able to visit him every so often. Happy to discuss and provide any further info if you are interested.
Rosie is a lovely 11 year old 13.3hh (approx) cob mare looking for a kind and reliable loaner. She means the absolute world to me, so finding the right person is incredibly important. Ideally she would stay at her current yard in Bashley, but if she did move, I would love to still visit and check in on her regularly.Rosie is a truly one in a million pony with so much potential. Unfortunately my own confidence has held us back a little, and I would love to see her out enjoying herself and reaching that potential with the right person. She would make a beautiful showing or dressage pony with the right education and opportunity. She has the sweetest personality and the kindest heart, always trying her hardest and giving her all. Rosie has gorgeous paces and is basically an overgrown dog — she adores her food, cuddles, attention, and a good pamper. She’ll always come when called from the field (unless she’s already waiting at the gate!).Rosie is such a special pony who truly deserves the world, and I would love to see her given the chance to shine. However, she does have a few quirks that need an understanding and confident rider. She is still green and inexperienced, both in the school and on the ground, and really takes her confidence from her rider. She is a very stubborn pony, she can find picking up the correct canter lead a little tricky and has a few basic schooling gaps, but these are things that will improve with time, patience and knowledgeable riding.Rosie can be a little spooky and needs time to settle into new environments as she can find them quite scary at first. She has also been known to nip occasionally, something we’ve been working on and which has improved a lot, but it’s important to be honest about it.With the right person to guide her and build her confidence, Rosie has so much to give, I would love to see her thrive. For all reasons above, she needs an experienced rider to take her on and love her as their own, financials to be discussed.
We are looking to find a more suitable home for our miniture sheltland. We got her about 2 years ago to be a companion pony to my husbands 16.3HH thoroughbred mare. My husband sadly lost his mare shortly after so since then, Tinks has had a few different jobs. She isn’t the best companion, as she doesn’t like being alone! If she can see another pony she is totally fine, but she wouldn’t suit being on a sole use yard where she would be the only pony remaining if the rest go out. She just screams and runs around but it isn’t fair on her & isn’t what we would like for her. In the time we have had her, she has done some therapy pony work with a lady we field shared with for a while. My youngest daughter has also ridden her (walk & trot only) on the lead rein on little hacks. She has also covered many miles accompanying us on hacks without a rider & doesn’t need to be lead, she will just follow. She isn’t a kids pony by any means, once caught she will tolerate being brushed and has always been fine with my daughter pottering around on her, but I wouldn’t trust her 100% with little ones on the ground and she has never been officially broken as far as I am aware. She is a typical mini Shetland with small pony syndrome! She is sassy, funny & very opinionated. As far as I am aware, she has never had laminitis, but she does need careful managing and couldn’t be turned out on endless grass. She suits living out 24/7 and doesn’t enjoy being stabled. She is up to date with farrier, teeth & worming. She is about 13 years old and has a passport/ microchip. She isn’t registered, she is on a generic passport. She wouldn’t be suitable for in hand showing as she has awful confirmation. She is never sick or sorry, lives off fresh air & you certainly won’t end up with big feed bills! She never gets rugged (although she does have 2 rugs and a fly rug) She probably wouldn’t suit living with another mini, when we tied her before she was vile. She probably needs a pony bigger than her to keep her in her place! If you have read to the end and think you could offer her a loving home, please do contact me on 07740003135. She will come with her rugs (that probably will never be needed!) and head collar. She doesn’t have any tack, was always ridden in a head collar and my daughters inky dinky saddle that is now used on another pony. I would love to find her a home that will love her! Full loan only, although if it all works out I would happily sign her over. All homes to be vetted & checks will be carried out periodically once in your care.
full loan to move yards! We’re looking for a long term loan home for mickey. We would potentially consider a LWVTB if we feel you’re right for him . Not too far from current yard - North Boarhunt and surrounding areas . He’s not a young child’s pony , he would suit a teen or small adult looking to mostly hack and just have fun .ABOUT MICKEY▪️12.2hh 11year old cob gelding ▪️kind temperament not a nasty bone in him - a real yard favourite ▪️lovely ground manners. Can be strong but once he knows you he’s perfect ▪️could stand all day to be groomed▪️mostly bombproof ▪️he does a lovely dressage test which he could excel in but he doesn’t enjoy too much schooling▪️he would happily live out . Likes coming in but he does like a decent amount of turnout ▪️living with a yearling atm but has lived with plenty of different types - gets along with everyone Mickey does need a firm , confident, but kind handler and rider - he’s a sensitive little soul - but he does know how strong he is🤦🏽♀️ He’s got no underlying health issues . Up to date with jabs , farrier etc.He can come with all his tack - I’ve got rugs tooHe’s NOT a jumping pony so please don’t enquire if that’s what you’re looking for . So please only serious enquiries I want the best of homes for him🥰
FOR FULL LOANAs I'm getting older i'm finding it more difficult to ride all the time and give Freddie all the time that he needs and deserves - i am looking for a full loan / or a part loan to contribute to the price of his up keep.Freddie has been with me for nearly 6 years now and it's so important for me to find the right home willing to treat him like the little prince he is, and also be able to keep him in good condition and ride him well. Freddie is not a novice ride but he has a level head on his shoulders. He occasionally shows the odd dance move (with a buck) but would never take off or whip round with you. At times he can be strong when he's excited but would never take off with you. He hacks in company or without. He's well behaved on the ground and loves all the attention he can getHe's a full up 14.2 going on 14.3 with shoes Connemara gelding. He's 10.I would preferably want him to go to a home with a mother daughter share as I think that's best for him - but open to ideas. Would be ideal home for someone who wants to hack/ take out for clinics/ fun rides. I have a trailer that you can use which we can discuss. No time's wasters please as he's a gem of a pony looking for a very kind person to have him - please contact me for further info - he is to STAY at current yard.
A lovely pony, 13hh Welsh b gelding rising 8 years. Totally field sound but not to be ridden, looking for a loving full loan home. He’s happy living in or out and gets on with mares and geldings. Good to catch, have his feet trimmed, up to date with worming and vaccinations, recently had his teeth done. Based Isle of Wight, happy to help with transport.
Very sadly I am looking for a loan home for my lovely Hatty, due to difficult circumstances. She’s approx 13.3hh, 17yo NFxTB, and has been out of work for a long time so would suit as a companion and somewhat happy hacker. She is loving and well behaved on the ground but can be an excitable ride. It’s so important to me she goes to the most loving 5 star home so I will be completely honest about all her quirks. She is currently turned out 24/7 but has been stabled in the past and loves it. She is my childhood pony but due to my own circumstances I am looking for her to go out on loan for a year or so. She is not a straightforward ride and can be very forward and throw in a buck and sadly sometimes she will rear out of protest. Which is why i’d be happy for her to go out as a companion or a happy hacker for a confident rider. There is still fun to be had with her by the right rider, she has hunted, done XC and show jumped but has been out of work for a couple of years apart from the odd hack. She still loves a good gallop but equally loves her retired lifestyle. She has had a couple of laminitis spells but has always been managed by box rest/diet and has never had any rotation. No other health issues and is currently shod on the front. Currently based in Colehill and could stay at current yard for the right person. Will answer any questions honestly as she must go to an incredibly loving, experienced home.
Bally is a 25 year old Connemara gelding, 15.1 h. he has been retired for the last 18 months due to arthritis. He is looking for a permanent home as a field companion. He loves human contact and can live with mares or geldings. Very easy to handle, he can live out all year but is happy to be stabled too. He has had no veterinary treatment in the last year and is on no medication. He is extremely affectionate and a good doer. Bally is currently out at grass with other retired horses. Please contact me with any questions.
We are looking for a new companion home for our 11.1hh grey. She is so sweet and friendly and neighs whenever she hears the door open and follows you around while poo picking. She sadly cannot be ridden due to her back but she still has lots of love to give. She loves kids and affection. Please do contact me if you can offer her a home. Thank you
