He has been owned since a foal and has been backed and broken, then allowed time to mature. He has mainly been enjoyed as a hacking pony on the open New Forest, with plenty of experience including beach rides and swimming. He is brave, enjoys his job and is definitely not a kick-along type — more of a responsive, point-and-go pony who gets on with the job.

He has hacked in front or behind and is sensible around traffic, tractors and cars. He is happy to lead younger ponies past things they may find spooky and will happily tackle puddles, water, bridges, logs and natural obstacles. He has also regularly accompanied a driving pony and takes it all in his stride.

He has just come to me for schooling for the first time and has never previously had an arena education. He is taking everything incredibly well and is proving to be a quick learner. Canter leads and transitions are already starting to come, and he is beginning to understand his new job.

He is not a novice ride and will need an experienced rider to continue his education and bring out his full potential, particularly in schooling and jumping. Ava is a gorgeous girl that We have had the pleasure of owning for the past 6 months, where we bought her as my 12 year old daughter’s first pony to produce.

In that time Ava has participated in all PC activities, including showjumping competitively up to 80cm proving herself to be quick against the clock, careful and completely unfazed by fillers. We know she will step up to 90cm but don’t feel it’s fair to ask her to do this with a rider who is too tall. Ava is also super talented in the dressage arena, and at the end of July she took part in her first dressage competition, scoring 67.8% in the Prelim 1. She behaved impeccably as always showing great maturity.


Unfortunately we have not been able to take her XC on grass due to the hard ground conditions, however we have taken her arena XC where she confidently jumped logs, roll tops and brush fences.

Ava is great to hack, happy going in front or behind, and doesn’t ever get fizzy or strong. She does all of these activities in a loose ring snaffle.

She is great for the farrier (barefoot), to clip, load, travel etc and is very cuddly and affectionate in the stable and around the yard, and is easily handled by children.

We have thoroughly enjoyed owning Ava, but she is now completely outgrown.

She is an amazing all round Pony Club, Nsea competition pony or potential BS pony.

This handsome chap has taught many children to ride and was previously a much-loved character at Andover Riding School. I bought him for my daughter last year when the school closed, but she has since lost interest, so he is now being wasted in the field and piling on the pounds. He was sold as a lead-rein pony, with his height listed as 12 3'', however he is well built and feels more like 13 hands thus he is large enough for me to ride. He could easily suit a small adult, a competent teenager or a child on the lead rein. He will stand for hours to be groomed and knows his job in the school. I have taken him over a few jumps, and he is very willing. He also enjoys hacking out, although he can occasionally be strong if he has not been ridden for a while. I would love to find him a forever home where he will be cherished and exercised regularly, as he still has so much to give. He is rising 16.

If you are looking for a fun, kind, experienced older pony who has been there, done it and still has plenty to offer, Izzy could be the perfect match.

Izzy is a 19-year-old, 14.1hh Connemara mare with a lovely, varied history.

With her previous owners, Izzy gave two young 12-year-old riders some wonderful experiences, including competing at the Pony Club Championships at Hickstead, qualifying for Bicton, winning dressage series, attending clinics, trying arena eventing, and competing at the Lucinda Green XC Academy at Tweseldown, where she finished 2nd.

Since coming to me, she has enjoyed a much quieter life of hacking, agility and liberty work.

Izzy has previously competed in showjumping and is happiest around 70–80cm. Please don’t ask for jumping videos, as I bought her specifically to forest hack and enjoy quieter activities rather than to compete. Her previous owner is very happy to speak to serious enquirers about her jumping history, and I also have a full history from her last two homes.

Izzy hacks out and is forward-going but sensible. She does appreciates reassurance around tractors, so she is not suitable for a novice rider. She loves having a job to do and is happiest when kept active, involved and given plenty of attention, although in addition, with us she has also been very happy to chill. She is great with dogs, children, farrier, vet, we did sedate her to clip her. She is great to load and travels quietly.

She is a beautiful, characterful mare who likes a routine. She prefers not to be left completely alone in the field, although she is perfectly settled standing at shows all day with a haynet when other horses are around. She is also happy to be stabled during the wetter winter months, as turnout is restricted here. She has no stable vices.

Izzy has recently had both hocks medicated with Arthramid and is now ready to continue a comfortable ridden career in whichever sphere suits her new person.

This is an absolutely heartbreaking decision. I bought Izzy with dreams of enjoying beautiful rides together around the New Forest, but sadly she is extremely unsettled by the New Forest crab flies and for this reason, I feel she would be much happier living outside the Forest environment.

She is therefore being rehomed through absolutely no fault of her own, I can not express how upsetting a sale this is, and she will only go to a knowledgeable home outside the New Forest.

Izzy would best suit a competent older child, teenager, small adult or mother/daughter share looking for a genuine all-round pony to enjoy hacking, clinics, schooling, jumping and having fun with. Chloe is the ultimate fun allrounder and the most amazing hunting pony.

Imported as a 5 year old and has given us 4 years of fun. She was bought for hunting specifically and has done 3 full seasons. She is a super hunter, will go front/middle/back, has field mastered and ridden up front with hounds and is the go to pony on the field for catching and returning loose horses!

She’s attended fun rides, XC schooled, beach rides, in hand showing, arena hires, lives in the new forest so is well used to weird and wonderful things going on out hacking and the dreaded crab flies.

Hacks alone and in company and is good in open spaces. Nice soft mouth pulls up easily.

Been to arena hires, jumps a small course of SJ fences, green in this area as it’s something she’s not really done much of, but pops round and does whatever you ask her to do she’s very genuine and will help you out if you muck up the striding. Walks/trots/canters in arena happily, not a ‘schooled’ pony (as in doesn’t know how to work in an outline) but works away without a fuss.
