Helena Whiting Veterinary Physiotherapy

Description:

Helena is a fully qualified and insured Veterinary Physiotherapist (BSc, ESMT, PGDip, ITEC) who qualified at Masters level from Writtle University College. She is registered with the NAVP- a governing body widely recognised by animal insurance companies.

Physiotherapy aims to identify and address areas of pain or dysfunction, whilst reducing the risk of injury and improving quality of life. It can be used to treat specific issues, or as maintenance to ensure your animal remains comfortable and competition ready. From the companion pet and happy-hacker, to the competition horse or dog, physiotherapy is beneficial to all.

Treatments are tailored to each animal’s needs, and include a combination of massage, stretching, electrotherapies and thermotherapies where necessary, following a full conformation and mobility assessment. Follow up advice is always left with owners, as well as a specific exercise programme to address your animal’s needs. Helena works closely with vets, saddlers, farriers and nutritionists to enable a holistic treatment approach.

Helena developed plenty of equine experience after working independently as an equine sports massage therapist for 4 years, and as a hydrotherapy assistant at a small animal hydrotherapy centre for 18 months. Helena is also a Level 3 Human Sports Massage therapist, providing mobile treatment to owners at their home or at her base in Ringwood.

Please don’t hesitate to call Helena on 07415 372819 for an informal chat to see how she could help you, your horse or small animal. Helena covers Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, but distances further afield can be discussed.
