NFED Help & Frequently Asked Questions

Moving adverts back to the top

Each advert is given a unique number when submitted, the adverts are then in numerical order which cannot be changed. Modifying an advert will not change the advert number or position, to move an advert back to the top it must be replaced. As a new advert it will have a new number & go back up the list.

All advertisers would like to be at the top, but it would be very unfair to new advertisers if their adverts were pushed down the list. This system is the fairest for all.

Free Ads

To provide a fair service to all of our users, any repeat wanted or offered advert or ads containing items previously advertised within the last two months DO NOT qualify as free ads.

Providing the advert is at least two months old, simply remove it & submit a new advert.

* The advert must be at least two months old.
* You must submit the advert yourself to qualify as a free advert.
* Not removing old ads may cause your advert to be rejected.
* Anyone using multiple identities to cheat the system will no longer be eligible for free ads.

If an approved free advert is removed within two months of the submission date, the replacement  WILL NOT qualify as a free ad & the deleted advert cannot be recovered. This is clearly stated in the guidelines which must be accepted before an advert can be submitted & again above the Delete Advert button. To readvertise, you must either wait two months from the original advert date or pay the standard fee for the new advert.

Paid Ads

You can pay to replace an advert at any time or if a paid ad is a minimum of two months old, it can be replaced free of charge subject to the following conditions. This is obviously open to abuse and therefore entirely at the administrator’s discretion.

  • We will not renew without payment, any advert that contains or originally advertised or mentioned more than one animal or item.
  • Adverts offering grazing or livery vacancies will not be renewed without payment. Any yard listed in the Directory can place a new advert for vacancies free of charge. If you often have vacancies, we recommend taking out a directory listing.
  • The animal or item advertised must clearly match the original advert, if there is any doubt or the description is too vague, the administrator will refuse to change the advert without payment.
  • Adverts under two months old WILL NOT be replaced without payment under any circumstances.
  • The advert must be submitted by the advertiser. If you would like us to do all the work & post the new advert for you, it will require payment.
  • If you are paying for the replacement, there is no need to wait two months.

To renew an advert free of charge

1: Check the date posted at the top of the advert to ensure that it is at least two months old.
2: Submit a new advert, then Email both the old & new advert numbers to the administrator.

The system will not allow duplicated ads, so you will have to slightly amend the advert text. Providing everything is ok, the administrator will copy over any existing photos, approve the new advert & delete the old advert for you.

Adverts renewed without payment will be treated as free ads, so will not be featured.

To renew an advert with payment

There is no need to wait until the advert is two months old, simply repay for the existing advert.

A new advert will be posted for you, all details including any photos* & passwords will remain the same, only the advert number will change.

Any galleries or videos will be transferred over to the new advert.

The advert will be featured providing it is suitable. Featured ads will appear on the NFED homepage, RSS feeds, Facebook & Twitter pages.

As with all new adverts, it can take up to 24 hours to process your order, but is normally much less.

How long it appears at the top will depend entirely on how busy the site is at the time. The adverts are in displayed numerical order, any advert posted afterwards will have a later number, so will be shown above. Permanent top adverts are not available.

*Note: If the advert has been removed or expired, the photos will no longer be available & will have to be uploaded again to the new ad.
