NFED Help & Frequently Asked Questions

My horse is free to a good home; do I have to pay for my advert?

Yes, all horse & pony offered ads are subject to the standard insertion fee regardless of the animal value or asking price.  As we do not charge commission, the selling price is completely irrelevant. We have learnt by experience that allowing free adverts for equines only attracts dishonest advertisers & scammers.

We do realise that anyone trying to rehome or give a horse away may see this as unfair. We strive to provide an efficient & popular service which takes a great deal of time, effort & money to achieve. To ensure viewers are not distracted, the site is completely clear of third party advertising, so the advert charges are necessary to keep the site running as viable business, but are kept as low as possible: (£8.99 for 180 days is less than 5p per day).

If you are not happy to pay, you are welcome to view the wanted adverts or why not charge the advert price for the animal.

The only exceptions to this rule are registered charities. The Charities Commission registration number must be shown in the advert (this will be checked on the charities commission website), in all cases this will be entirely at the administrator’s discretion.
