Flexible Days and 3-6 hour per week. Term time only.

Stroud is a flourishing IAPS day school set in a rural location on the outskirts of Romsey (359 pupils aged 3 – 13).
We are looking for a confident, competent, out-going individual who loves to teach. This is an exciting opportunity to join Stroud School which is the Preparatory School for King Edward VI. We are located in rural Romsey. The post holder will be responsible for delivering safe, interesting and informative lessons to riders of different ages and abilities. We currently have two Ponies and an outdoor school to which we offer internal weekly riding lesson for children at Stroud, aged from 7-13 years old. The lesson take place at 1:00 till 4:00pm.

The role will involve coordinating and teaching weekly riding lessons and working alongside our riding assistant. An encouraging and positive attitude towards children of all ages and abilities is crucial, with a vast knowledge of horses and capabilities to provide exciting, safe and professional lesson.

Required skills:
•Driving licence
•Instructor with British Horse Society certification or international equivalent required
•Equine first aid
•Natural horsemanship
•Knowledge and experience of teaching Group / Private Lessons at various levels, ages and abilities including riders with special requirements and learning difficulties
Key responsibilities/accountabilities:
•To facilitate riding lesson with safety and care, with the welfare of both horses and children being paramount.
•To teach to the highest standards, showing progression as well as enjoyment.
•To undertake relevant training, attend relevant courses and be up to date on all school procedures.
