Description
We currently have 2 amazing vacancies that have become available at Pepperwood Park, Hoplands.
Pepperwood Park is top class private yard in Hampshire with a Grand Prix dressage rider, trainer and breeder. Our clients include a 3 star eventer and an International show jumper, who are able to take advantage of our amazing facilities.

The 2 positions are for an experienced & proficient rider, and the second is for a groom.

RIDER:
Looking for an experienced rider to assist with breaking, bringing on and riding young horses. This will include a mix of recently backed horses (homebred warmbloods – who aren’t lunatics!), helping to maintain fitness for the CCI3 eventer’s horses who are based here.
Candidate must have experience of riding high calibre competition horses and young stock – not necessarily looking for competition experience though.
We have 2 stallions based here, so experience of stallions would be an advantage.
Candidate must be also be happy to help muck in with the general yard duties as well, work well in a team, be self-motivated with a position disposition – and on occasions be able to take sole-charge of the yard when the owner and yard manager are off site – which is quite regularly due to competitions, travelling and when the owner travels to receive training from an Olympic rider.

GROOM:
Looking for a candidate with high standards of husbandry and equine care, preferably with some experience on a competition yard (dressage, showing or eventing environment would be an advantage).
Candidate should enjoy keeping a tidy and well-maintained yard, naturally fast and able to multi-task and plan. A good degree of common sense needed, along with a genuine love and passion for horses.
Happy to work as part of a team, and on their own when needs require. Happy to take direction, be self-motivated with a positive disposition.
Position will mainly involve all yard duties, be able to plait, clip and bandage well. Groom and turnout to a high standard. Be proficient in making up the horses’ feeds, being able to spot any problems with any horses, no matter how small.
Tacking up the owner’s horses, as well as livery horses where required.

****************

Ideally looking for applications for either role to live on site – but not compulsory.
Also, ideally looking for full-time, but will consider part-time applicants as well.
For more information about the roles, remuneration package and more about the perks that come with working at Pepperwood Park, please email in the first instance.

All expressions of interest and applications are in confidence.
