Description
Gretel is a stunning 15.3hh (on passport, but she is more like 16.1hh!) grey Irish Draught x Thoroughbred mare with a charming and funny nature. She is registered with CHAPs as she is actually a secret piebald (shows when wet!) rather special and pretty! At 17 years old, she is sound and in good health with no known issues. Gretel thrives in a herd environment and enjoys the company of other horses. She is excellent in traffic and safe to ride along roads. Before her current home, Gretel was used as a trekking horse and has become accustomed to hacking in groups, which explains why she does best in a herd environment. She is great with the farrier, easy to catch (comes when called!), but has always been sedated for the dentist. Gretel can also be a bit suspicious of strangers until she becomes familiar with them.Sadly, due to a loss of confidence, her current owner has not ridden Gretel for 12 months. When she first brought Gretel home, she tried to ride her out alone, but Gretel showed signs of napping, spinning, or would plant herself. This behavior may be linked to separation anxiety, as she calls to herd mates when separated. It is believed that Gretel senses the rider’s nervousness, which feeds into Gretel’s own anxiety, making solo rides a challenge. Therefore she is only suitable for a confident experienced rider. This decision is heart breaking for her owner, as she loves Gretel dearly and feels guilty admitting that Gretel may not be the right horse for her! She is searching for a confident and knowledgeable rider who can provide Gretel with the leadership and companionship she needs to thrive. Snaffle mouth, not strong but a sensitive ride. Currently lives out 24/7 year round happily in a mixed herd, easy to do, thrives on grass, hay and balancer only diet! A kind, understanding home is far more important than the price, If you have the experience and confidence to work with Gretel and give her the loving home she deserves, please get in touch. I believe she could make a wonderful partner for the right person! Sold from field, hence price. She will need bringing back into work. £1,800 inc rugs. (Tack available for separate negotiation inc nearly new GP leather trek saddle and brand new unused leather bridle)
A gorgeous gelding, 3 years old, needs an experienced home as a complete blank canvas. Fantastic temperament.Roughly 13.1, stocky build. Does have a couple of sarcoids. The best home is of utmost importance over price.
Mouse is a 4 rising 5 year old, 16hh thoroughbred. I brought Mouse as a project horse around a year ago. She was named Mouse due to her very small, quiet and sweet temperament. She is an ex racer, who only raced twice, with clean limbs and no injuries from racing. She is an incredibly honest mare, super talented and a very quick learner!Mouse has three lovely paces and brilliant brakes. All round a super sweet mare who loves attention and cuddles. She is very soft mouthed and always ridden in a snaffle. I spent some time giving her time off in the field to play ponies and put on some condition. She was then brought back into work and after not being ridden for 4 months she schooled absolutely beautifully! I have plenty of videos of those upon request. She is the type of horse you can leave for weeks and then get on and she will be no different! She has started to pop some small jumps which she seems to absolutely love! She has seen traffic and heavy machinery. I truly believe she will make someone an amazing pony club and all rounder competition horse. She can turn out with mares, geldings or on her own and is currently living out 24/7. She is up to date with teeth, worming, vaccinations and is currently unshod but up to date with trimming. However, Mouse can be temperamental to load. I currently travel her in a 3.5 tonne side loading lorry. Sometimes she will walk straight into the lorry without any questions but other times she does require some patience to get her in, but she does always load! She is a sensitive soul and does need someone who understands this and is gentle with her. With more routine I believe Mouse will have no issue with this. Unfortunately I just don’t have the time to regularly get her out and practice the loading. She has previously travelled in a trailer, I don’t have one currently to try this with, but she may prefer this to the lorry. She also can be difficult to lunge. Often she will have a funny 5 minutes before settling into a nice rhythm. However, under saddle she is an absolute angel. Like most OTTB she does also windsuck. She has shown no signs of any negative effects from this. I think in the correct home with plenty of forage, a better routine and some field companions this is something that will decrease with time. In the right home, with more consistency and routine Mouse will making someone the perfect pony club and/or all rounder. She has huge amounts of potential and SO much to offer. She takes everything in her stride! I have plenty of videos of her in work, upon request. Please note that Mouse will continue her work with me until she is sold. This will reflect on the price. £2900 ono, including tack. Reduced as would really love to find this lovely mare a home before Christmas!

13hh (although can take a lightweight adult as she really takes up the leg - I’m 5’6)8 year old Cob mareVery sweet temperament, can be handled by anyoneBought as a first ridden but is not quite yet the first pony we want.Initially, she was very nervous hacking out alone and didn’t seem to have had any experience of the open forest (bikes, dogs, ponies, cows ,donkeys, hikers etc) so we went back to basics and slowly restarted her by going out in-hand and on lunge lines. She is now going very nicely under saddle at walk and trot in the forest, mostly alone (but occasionally in company), coping with cows, bikes, dogs, traffic, crab flies, forest ponies etcHowever, we recently started canter work and initially she put in a couple of broncs going into canter (not every time, but enough to indicate a potential issue). We discovered that her saddle was slipping as it was too wide (now adjusted) and she also had physio (where she was tight in her back, possibly where the saddle was slipping). She seems much better after saddle adjustment and treatment and a friend has cantered her once since with no problem. However, I have just stuck with walk and trot (at which she is very reliable) and feel that really she probably needs to go to a competent rider who can develop her canter work further (and sit the bronc should it re-emerge)Hence I’m selling her as a project, as I think she needs someone with experience to help her with this transition.Lots of videos of her being ridden in the forest are available.Happy to show what she’s like under saddle at walk and trot (possibly canter if we feel she is ready to try that again at the time of viewing..)Great on the ground, with farrier, to catch, tack up, groom etcCurrently unshodGood with other ponies that I have put her in withVetting welcomeWelcome to come and view her as many times as you like (but sorry no trials)Price negotiable if you can give her a good home (OIRO £1800). No novices or childrenSome tack may be available by seperate negotiationPlease message for pics and videos.
Looking for a very special home for these two lovely young girls. The roan Sabino is 4 years and is a companion only as she has a heart murmur. Could be broken if heart murmur is investigated and it’s proven she is safe to ride. Not to be bred from. The dark grey is 3 next year and is a blank canvas for someone to put their own stamp on. A nice athletic type. I would like these two to go together to a loving home who would love a couple of ponies to pamper and play with, do lots of handling and bring them on. They love human company and each other. Sad sale but they are the sort that like attention and are being wasted in the field. Negligible cost to the right perfect forever pet home. Both Welsh mountain ponies around 11.3.
Wootton Heath Rascal 3 year old gelding sired by Mallards Wood Spot On.Lovely temperament, easy to catch, will pick up all 4 feet with no problems, happy to live in or out with mares or geldings. Currently standing around 13.2hh.He’s a blank canvas ready to go onto the next stage of his education. He’s a lovely boy, for sale through no fault of his own we just have other Youngstock to concentrate on. £2000ono home is more important than price. No novices or time wasters.
Looking for an experienced home for my 15.2 5yo PRE mare. She's had 10 months in the field so will need to be restarted. She could make a lovely dressage horse but is sensitive so needs a confident sympathetic rider. She's hacked in the past but isn't confident on her own and doesn't like large vehicles. She's much happier working in the arena as she loves to learn. She's great with other animals and also gets on well with other horses. She has sweet itch but have controlled this with rug/ supplements (she'll come with her rug). She can be difficult to load. Once she's on she travels well in a 3.5t but doesn't like trailers (though would probably be OK in an equitrek). Finding the right home is more important than price and potential homes will be vetted.
